Do-It-Yourself MDHHS Hearing Request

Unfortunately, our Do-It-Yourself Tools (form filling tools) are currently unavailable because of a technical problem with one of our partner organizations. All of the other content on Michigan Legal Help is still available. If you have any trouble finding what you need and you are not sure if it is included in this outage, you can use LiveHelp to chat with us. For blank court forms, use this link to the Michigan Courts forms page. Thank you for your patience. Our partner organization is doing everything they can to restore access to these tools.

Use this tool to request a hearing from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services if your public assistance has been terminated, reduced, denied, or sanctioned, or if it's been too long and you haven't gotten a decision on your application for benefits.  This only applies to Michigan benefits that come from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

You will go to the LawHelp Interactive website to do this.  After you answer the questions, you may get a completed Request for Hearing form, and you may also get a print-out of helpful information about how to prepare for your hearing.
